After 5 years in London I decided that the time was right for me to come back to my dear Malta! I had an amazing experience in this big cosmopolitan city but in the last year I began to miss the wonderful life in Malta - the people and the lifestyle! It was one big race in which I found myself being swept away by the crowd and wondering where I was really heading to after all! After a series of auditions, my sister Stephanie and I were selected to have a 'Starbrights' album produced and released by an established publishing company in London. This was followed by numerous performances in clubs and pubs in and around London. Our CD album is now on sale in several independent music shops in the city and is now also available from D'Amato Record Shop in Valletta, Cauchi in Mosta and Florence in Zurrieq. My gorgeous sister got married a couple of years ago and has an amazing daughter - baby Martina! I already miss her tremendously and saying goodbye was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my whole life. It was the first time our paths were leading us towards different roads. It is by no means the end for the 'Starbrights' as we intend to continue performing whenever the opportuny arises. I am now eager to once again involve myself in the music and media scene in Malta. I am currently auditioning for a couple of TV film series and had a brief involvement during the final stages of the filming of the life of St Paul - a film production to be released by the end of this year. I will be presenting part of the maratona in 'Ohloq Tbissima' in Summer and I am looking forward to many other similar opportunities. Besides being involved in the music, in London I also tutored and trained other professionals in a private equity company which organised several workshops for its employees. I currently teach at the Sacred Heart School and I thank God for being so wonderful and helping me reach this decision. Without a shadow of a doubt this has been an amazing journey....and the journey continues! Lots of love, Maria Lewis x
